When a Commission Becomes a Cover: Indestructible Hulk Issue 5 Variant Cover by Chris Stevens

Issue number 5 of Indestructible Hulk will have a variant cover drawn by the insanely talented artist Chris Stevens. Chris is primarily a cover artist so you may not be as familiar with his art as many of the more well known interior artists on the comic scene today. The variant cover (below) has an interesting back story. This was actually drawn a few years ago as part of an art swap between Chris and industry inker Derek Fridolfs. Fast forward a few years later when Marvel picked up the already great commission and made it even better by turning it into a cover. If you can’t tell, I am a huge fan of Chris’ work and hope to have the same luck one day for one my commissions from Chris.

That would be awesome to have a commission make the leap to cover. LIke you said, wish this would happen to one of my pieces.
